My name is Mella, I was born and raised  in Washington Heights, New York. My parents are of Puerto Rican and Irish heritage.  As a young child, I was drawn to music, fashion, beauty and all things that felt empowering. As I got older I realized that empowering others through beauty, self-love and self-care became my passion. I created Mella Rey Beauty Inc., to empower others to embrace and enhance their OWN beauty and sense of self. Growing up with a make-up obsession in an urban community, I soon realized that beauty and self-care products could be expensive, intimidating and confusing. It can make you think "this isn't for me" but I want to help make a change. My beauty brand is dedicated to creating budget-friendly, cruelty-free and high-quality products that are easy to use and accessible for ALL. 

With my brand, I see an opportunity not only to share my love for beauty, fashion, and self-care but to  represent ALL kinds of beauty no matter your budget or where you're from. I strive to empower others to see the beauty they already possess, help enhance it and feel empowered to live there best life.
